I don't really use processed foods or junk food. I've never been a soda or juice drinker. The only processed foods I've EVER used are mostly flour and sugar (beet or cane) in small amounts. I've always suffered from over eating or/and obesity as a disease. I over ate as a pencil-thin 14-year-old back in the 70s. All of my siblings (6 brothers) over ate and were thin. Now that my brothers and I are in our 50s and 60s, we are all fighting obesity. The weight loss drugs are the only thing I have found that make me feel "normal." With semaglutide or tirzepatide, I'm able to eat the right amount and only when I'm hungry, even if it's junk food, which it usually isn't. I've even lost my voracious sweet tooth, but I still enjoy a small dessert from time to time. I hope to get to a healthy weight and continue to use the smallest dose of tirzepatide or semaglutide indefinitely for maintenance and overall good health. My insurance doesn't cover them and I'm unemployed, but I felt it was so important that I found a company that provides the less expensive compound tirzepatide. I cashed in my measly amount of Social Security early, just so I can have these medicines for the rest of what I hope to be, a long and healthy life.

I don't understand why Big Pharma doesn't see the potential in manufacturing drugs to curb hotflashes. 80% of women suffer with these, can you imagine the revenue generated? It would be the highest revenue in the history of the world if they came up with something that works. Just look at Veozah, it just came out about a year ago and sales, without insurance, have skyrocketed.

hmmm, I so love Viola's reference to the attribution of beauty. My mother especially would tell us girls we were beautiful but she NEVER dwelt on that as a useful quality and so I developed the values that Viola mentioned, the most important of all is resilience, high self esteem, and being a competent (useful) human being... and not needing to be liked, (permission) to forge your path in life.

I don't know about the selfie generation lacking confidence. I have been yelled at to get out of the way by dozens of selfie takers out in public and observed them cause delays and havoc as they insist on taking their own photos on buses, trains, walkways, parks, cafe's etc.... they seem overly confident and bossy to me
